This is my 72nd blog posting and already the second on anger and golf. I have a hunch that as time goes by there will be many others. From skynews.com
Paul Casey's driver bore the brunt of his frustration as the world number three had a second round to forget at the Open Championship.
Casey broke his one-wood in anger after a wayward drive on the eighth hole consigned him to a second double-bogey of his round at Turnberry.
He also missed an 18-inch putt on the fifth green during a second round 76 which left him four-over-par and in serious danger of missing the cut.
"It was certainly done out of frustration," admitted Europe's top-ranked player, who was left with only 13 clubs he could use for the rest of his round.
"It had been in the bag for four years - it's had a good innings - and I didn't need it any more."
Casey also called his three-putt bogey on the fourth "inexcusable", but thought the pin placing on the ninth, where he dropped yet another shot to turn in 41, was "ridiculous."
Elsewhere, Ian Poulter is out after a shocking second round 79 left him 14-over-par.
"If you're going to play as bad as I played for two days, it doesn't matter what golf course you're playing." He said.
"It could have been the easiest municipal down the road and I would have missed the cut. It was horrible."
