Lowestoft coach drivers get anger management courses

Coach drivers in Lowestoft have been getting anger management training to deal with stressful passengers.
Employees at Belle Coaches have been given lessons in how to successfully let off steam as part of a course run by Lowestoft College.
The firm's HR co-ordinator Caroline Sturman said: “It can sometimes be a difficult job when you are alone up front with 57 passengers behind you, but we're making sure all our drivers have the skills to meet most eventualities. You can be up against it if anything goes wrong - but we know the customer is always right.â€
She said they were conscious too of occasional criticism levelled by passengers of bus and coach drivers at other companies for being offhand or inconsiderate.
“It's something we want to avoid and all our drivers are working through a Train to Gain scheme with Lowestoft College which will help them with everything from driving laws and mechanical skills through to health and safety, anger management and customer care,†she said.
